I helped celebrate Ray and Claudette Bedingfield's 50th wedding anniversary party with event photos. Their marvelously talented daughter Laurel designed and made all of the decorations including headbands adorned with pictures of the couple or the number "50". As a surprise she encouraged everyone to wear gold (for the Golden Anniversary) and it was fun to see how each person interpreted the request. Kenny managed to find a golden Elvis jacket in the back of a closet. Friends and family mingled on the porch while caterers served sangria, beer, and hors d'oeuvres. Claudette's brother Danny, who acted as the Officiant for the evening, donned a religious-looking costume for most of the night and had many guests perplexed as he is a Unitarian minister (the robe was a joke). When Ray and Claudette renewed their vows there was some ad libbing by Claudette who announced that after 50 years of marriage she vows to stop nagging. Ray immediately said "I do" before she could change her mind. Later a quartet of Laurel, Nathan, Logan, and Danny performed an Elvis song. When they began to struggle with the words, Claudette joined them to finish it off. A wonderful time was had by all. Happy Anniversary to a truly beautiful couple. Hope to see you at the 75th.
